 Hohepa is a vibrant community of people with disabilities, their families, support networks, staff and volunteers who are working together with the shared purpose of creating opportunities for people to reach their full potential. 

We can share a lot of stories of supporting people to pursue their passion, including things like starting a garage band, creating art, an interest in gorillas or a journey towards health and wellbeing.  We look forward to hearing about your hopes and dreams.

 Feedback from the people Hohepa support, their families and support networks is consistently positive.  They tell us they are pleased that we build strong relationships with them and take on board their ideas and feedback.  Like you, we are also learning about this new and exciting way of working.  Your input and ideas will be important for us to get this right.

 Hohepa has an established and dedicated team.  Our staff and volunteers are committed and passionate about what they do.  We have very low staff turnover and get great feedback in our annual staff survey.  Our strengths in recruitment and management are something you might like to take advantage of.

It also means that Sophie, our Flexible Support Co-ordinator, is supported by a strong team with well-developed networks and skills.  While you get to build a relationship with one person focused on helping you, you also get to benefit from the knowledge and capability of a bigger team.

 Hohepa promote and truly value the contribution that people with a disability can make.  Our emerging group of peer supporters is a great example of this, people with disabilities mentoring and working with others to build friendships, new skills and most importantly have fun!  Our anthroposophical principles underpin our belief that everyone can add value.

 For 50 years Hohepa has successfully navigated changes and challenges in how people with disabilities are supported in New Zealand. We are motivated by this next evolution and to live the Enabling Good Lives principles in everything that we do.
