March has seen the beginning of the forums for 2016. Enabling Good Lives have three forums that are organised monthly. There is one for people with disabilities, one for families  and their whānau and one for providers. If you are interested in any of the forums please contact Loren to find out when and where they happen.  Last month at the Disabled Forum we had dancer Rodney Bell as our guest presenter. Rodney shared his experiences living in the USA where he found himself homeless, and he shared his experiences of being homeless and in a wheelchair. March’s focus is on Leadership. The Family and Whānau forums focusses on how you can include the Enabling Good Lives Principles into your family.

Enabling Good Lives is also working collaboratively with a range of organisations to host workshops for people with disabilities. These topics range from hiring your own staff, micro-enterprise and how to negotiate what you want.

These start this month and will be all around the Waikato area. Look out for events that will be posted on our website of the next couple of weeks.

March is a busy month for us, as we prepare for the release of our first evaluation of the Waikato demonstration. We look forward to sharing the results with you on our next month’s update.
